Starting OpenTTD Without Original Transport Tycoon Deluxe Files

OpenTTD needs additional graphics and sound files. You can use free base sets instead of the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe assets.

Download OpenTTD from its official website, or find its listings on Steam, GOG and the Microsoft Store.

The documented free options are OpenGFX for graphics, OpenSFX for sound and OpenMSX for music.

If you choose the original TTD graphics and sound, copy the corresponding CD-ROM data into the baseset directory. The Windows installer can optionally copy these files.
